Gobble, Gobble! 2022 Teacher Turkey Chosen!

It was a nail biter...

The entire student body set out to choose our 2022 Teacher Turkey by ways of a canned food drive competition. One donated non-perishable item equaled one feather, and students placed feathers on turkeys representing each of our teachers. There was definitely strategy at play, but at the end of the week, Coach Hebb now has the tremendous honor of dressing up as a turkey on the last day of school before Thanksgiving Break! Our second grade students used this opportunity to practice bar charts and other math skills as they kept track of each of the turkeys' totals throughout the week.

Most importantly, as a school community, we collected 635 items! All of these foods will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving boxes, blessing local community members with af full Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey!
